CIP Commission Approved!

The CIP Commission voted to approve our proposal to expand the Corvallis Skatepark! This is not the final approval but it means that we have a firm commitment from the City of Corvallis which will allow us to write and submit grant proposals to help fund the project.

Yes, this process takes time, but now the only thing holding us back is funding. The sooner we raise the funds the sooner the bowl and other improvements will happen so help us help you by donating some cash to speed things up.

Thanks to ALL those who have helped and ALL those who will. We would not be here without you.   Stay tuned for more updates.  Sincerely, BCSA Admin.

now you guys can get off your ass and get some money. Is this still a 50 year plan or can i skate it before i grow gray hair? just kidding….., wait no im not. lets SEE some progress, stake out the area with flags or paint, put a picture of the bowl on the future site, the kids need to see that their parents money is going to actually do some thing. The art shows are great, but there needs to be more money coming in. yearly donations will not get this thing built any time soon, maybe ask eugene people how they did it…? party on brothers

you could just build Marlin a condo next to the river and say fuck the bowl idea.

  3. Thanks Colin. We are in fact talking to a volunteer grant writer and are working on putting to together some grant applications. I do agree with your comments, except the Marlin one. Maybe you could raise some donations down in Santa Cruz and bring some California Cash back up with to further our cause? Thanks again for your support.

I would bring some california cash but im not interested in the 10 year plan, i am also surprised that a bowl costs $70,000 to build. im going to go skate buena and fall down, and use my california cash on booze and underage women

I’m not interested in a 10 year plan either. Hopefully, we’ll get grant money within the year. I wouldn’t believe that a bowl could cost that much either, but that’s the low end from 3,000 sq ft skate bowls built in Oregon that we found numbers for. If we get material donations, it will be significantly cheaper.

  7. Thanks Collin, we are on that list http://www.skatedaily.net/news/archive/2009/12/20-26.php#n005241 and this one http://skateandannoy.com/2009/12/16363/ And if anyone wants to help us out or send us advice please send us email at bcskateboardingalliance@gmail.com Or better yet donate to us at http://bcskateboardingalliance.org/?page_id=40

maybe you guys should advertise more, like put flyers out months before the event, not days.

  9. DGlavich says:

Yes, we do need to advertise and network more. The problem is we don’t have time to do much more than what we’re doing…so we need help. Anyone willing to put on fundraiser events, distribute flyers for events, help network, grant write, or any other type of promotion, please contact us.
